Home > US Airways > 2009 > ReviewTaken 26 December 2009 from Pittsburgh, PA (Pittsburgh International Airport) - PIT to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) - CDGCheck-in at 12:41 for a 5:40p.m. flight to dreadful Philadelphia, and my connecting flight to Paris at 9:00 pm. When I asked if I could take the 3:25 p.m. flight to Philadelphia, I was rudely told by a female US agent, with glasses and auburn hair, that I was even lucky to be getting to Philadelphia in the fist place. She said there were no seats on any flights that day. This was a LIE. When I checked in at the Club, I was told I could have taken the earlier flight because there were still 4 empty seats. However, since I had checked bags, I was stuck with the 5:20. Had this flight left on time, my bags would have made it. As it was, we arrived with only 75 minutes. in between flights. I made it, but, needless to say, my one and only bag did not. The lost baggage service in Paris is run by a company that handles many African airlines and USAirways. I filled out the form, but when asked about compensation, I was told I had to speak with US directly downstairs at the departure counter. Once there, I was told I had to call the US reservation center in England. They only issued tickets in Paris, and nothing to do with customer relations. Next I call the European res. center only to be told that they could not help, but that it was up to Paris to do something. But this is the best: Their computers do not even communicate with US computers in America. Therefore, England had no idea where my bag was. Fortunately I did find out after three calls to the Sates that my bag was in Philadelphia (why?--who knows) and would arrive on the 28th. I went back to CDG to pick up my bags, and when I told the baggage service people, they simply said "good" because they had lost the address of where I was staying in Paris. Therefore, I would have never received my bags. USAirways is run out of Phoenix, AZ, and has no clue about the horrible situation in Philadelphia----one of the worst airports in the U.S. Therefore, in the future, I shall travel via Dulles on United for my trips to Europe. Dulles is 100 per cent better than Philadelphia can ever hope to be. Too bad USAirways but you just lost a gold preferred member`s money. | ||
