Taken 21 December 2007 from Jersey - JER to London, England (Heathrow Airport) - LHR

This route is subsidised by the government of Jersey, and its principal purpose is to enhance the ability of business travellers to transit Heathrow rather than having to go from Heathrow to Gatwick.

My booking made some nine months in advance, and this led to the inevitable flight schedule change did not affect my ability to connect to my next flight.

I was prompted to check in on line the day before, but going to the site, I was told the site was down for maintaince, and this continued right up till the time I left for the airport the next morning.

I was assisted to check in by BMI staff using a check in machine, and this failed, so it was back to good old manual check in.

Inbound flight arrived on time, but we were some 20 minutes late taking off, but due to the long block time given to this flight, we landed on time.

Aircraft a really clean A320, good leather seats, and lots of leg room on my emergency row. Cabin crew clean, well presented, and smiling. After take off they told us what delights were going to be served in Business Class, whilst we were given a good choice of snacks and beverages to purchase.

Difficult to fault this short sector, they provided a good level of service, and professionalism, with a cheery flight deck crew as well.

Major drawbacks are not really BMI's fault, firstly the luggage took an hour to arrive, and the flight always goes/arrives from stand 90 at Heathrow T1, about three days walk from security.
